Agea begins as a glittering, jewel-like capital city of Mars in Red Rising, its rooftop nightclubs and condensed-air dance floors symbolizing the opulence of the Society. By Morning Star it has become a strategic seat of regional power with a major Citadel complex, and in Iron Gold it suffers bombings that foreshadow the Republic’s fragile hold. In Dark Age it serves as the Republic’s capital, bristling with skyhooks and skyscrapers, before reverting in Light Bringer to its original poetic description—now haunted by the scars of war.
