Screwface begins as an anonymous lowColor hanger-on in the Phobos Tower chaos of Red Rising, then solidifies into one of Darrow’s Howlers by Golden Son, surviving the Institute’s lethal trials alongside the core team. By Morning Star he is simply catalogued as a male Howler, but in Dark Age he re-emerges as a strikingly handsome, mid-thirties Gold operative whose refined features and scarlet Heliopolitan scarf mask a calculating double-agent. Across the saga his arc transforms him from a scrappy, wolf-cloaked shadow into a stealthy, aristocratic-looking counter-espionage asset whose loyalty to Darrow remains the one constant in an ever-shifting war.

Description

Screwface is a lean, wiry 16-year-old boy of about 5'6", his pale lowColor skin etched with faint scars from a hardscrabble life in the mines. His short, unevenly cropped dark brown hair frames a sharp, angular face dominated by hazel eyes that gleam with cunning, and a perpetual twisted smirk that earns him his name. He dresses in ragged gray lowColor garb, patched and practical, with belts slung low heavy with slings, knives, and pouches. His posture is tense and feral, coiled like a spring, exuding the jittery readiness of a street survivor. Screwface’s passive face stares out from the open, fanged maw of a black wolfcloak, which gives him a stark, predatory outline. The text does not specify his build, skin tone, hair, eyes, or other facial features. His still, unreadable expression contrasts with the cloak’s threatening animal shape. Screwface is a male Howler, identified by the nickname Ugly Screwface, though the text does not specify his exact facial features or coloring. He wears practical Howler armor, which he is later seen removing. His presence is plainspoken and rugged, shaped more by his place among the Howlers than by any recorded physical details. male Howler A lean man nearly thirty-five years old, with a surgically altered face and a nasty smile. In chapter 87 he is missing his right leg below the knee and the skin above his hairline after being scalped.
