The Oracle first manifests in Golden Son as a pair of eerie, transparent hybrid creatures that serve as living ornaments for the powerful, their beauty masking lethal stingers and chattering mouths. By Iron Gold, the Oracle has shifted from a physical presence to an invasive procedure or device, now linked to the surveillance or control of Lyria, suggesting a transformation from ornamental threat to institutional instrument of power. Across the saga, the Oracle evolves from a symbol of elite danger into a tool of systemic intrusion, reflecting the changing nature of authority and control in the post-Republic world.

Description

Each Oracle has a fluid, translucent body that seems made of glass, exposing its organs and delicate skeleton beneath the surface. Its form blends scorpion, pit viper, and centipede, with a serpentine shape, chitinous mouth, and three blind eyes. A segmented scorpion tail arches behind it, ending in a clear, needlelike stinger. Their slight, graceful movements make them seem almost liquid, until their chattering mouths and poised tails reveal their menace. The text gives no physical description of the Oracle, and does not establish whether it is a person, device, or procedure.
