Colloway xe Char, the legendary pilot known as the Warlock, transitions from a charismatic, exhausted fleet veteran in Iron Gold to a hardened, synaptic-haloed figure anchoring desperate Solar War operations in Dark Age. His journey reflects the toll of prolonged conflict, evolving from daring exploits and irreverent charm to a grim, battle-weary presence who remains essential to the Republic's survival. Across both books, his skill and loyalty persist even as the war strips away his earlier levity.

Description

Colloway is a slender, older man with deep ebony skin and blue-black hair. Cerulean astral tattoos cover his body, creating a striking pattern of bright blue against his dark complexion. His handsome face and relaxed, almost sleepy expression contrast with his alert competence, while his posture remains laconic and unhurried. He wears practical clothing suited to a pilot and carries himself with a casually dashing presence. Slim limbs and pale blue eyes mark his lean pilot's build, often framed in a synaptic halo within an ovular pilot’s chair bathed in blue light. A dark man, he smokes burners casually on crates of pulseArmor or slides from battered ripWings with mangled canopies. In warrooms, he remains absolutely still, sometimes drunk, exuding a brooding intensity.

  • Darrow of Lykoscomrade

Colloway's professional relationship with Darrow begins with joint operations on the Deepgrave extraction in Iron Gold, where his piloting skills directly support Darrow's Howler forces. This evolves in Dark Age into a more critical wartime alliance, with Colloway's piloting becoming essential to Darrow's fleet survival during the Solar War's grind.

  • Rhonnacolleague

Colloway's relationship with Rhonna is marked by tension from their first interaction in Iron Gold, where his dismissive comment about her being 'dead weight' contributes to her frustration. This strained professional dynamic appears to persist into Dark Age, though their interactions become less central to the narrative.
