Lucifer Cat appears in The Shattering Peace as a domestic feline whose owner is away on a classified mission, leaving the cat temporarily in the care of the Obin assistant. The cat’s presence underscores the domestic stakes behind interstellar conflict, contrasting the high-stakes diplomacy of the Colonial Union with the quiet routines of home life. Across the series, Lucifer Cat serves as a subtle reminder that even the most extraordinary operatives maintain personal ties that anchor them to the worlds they fight to protect.
