The Sapper Field Generator first appears in The Shattering Peace as a compact, cube-shaped device embedded in Consu transport vessels, capable of projecting a field that neutralizes energy-based weaponry across a wide radius. Its introduction marks a significant technological escalation in interstellar conflict, forcing human and allied forces to reconsider reliance on directed-energy arms. The generator's deployment signals the Consu’s strategic shift toward defensive countermeasures that neutralize the technological advantages previously enjoyed by the Colonial Defense Forces.
