The Unity Colony Cargo Hold with Bacon first appears in The Shattering Peace as a repurposed industrial cargo bay on the colony ship, transformed into a secure containment cell for a captured Consu prisoner. Unlike the adjacent Kitty's hold, this space is distinguished by its high ceilings and industrial fittings, serving as a critical site for human-Consu diplomatic and military interactions. Its evolution reflects the escalating tensions between humanity and the Consu, shifting from mere storage to a nexus of interspecies negotiation and potential conflict.
