Colonel Bridgers serves as the CDF's liaison to the Colonial Union diplomatic apparatus, first appearing in The Shattering Peace as the uniformed voice at a closed-door briefing on the Unity Colony disappearance. Across the series he evolves from a terse, by-the-book staff officer into a pragmatic bridge between the CDF's military imperatives and the Union's shifting political realities, ultimately becoming a trusted conduit for information that the civilian leadership would otherwise never receive.
