The mistcoat is the iconic garment of the Era Two lawmen of Elendel, most closely associated with Waxillium Ladrian, who wears his tasseled duster as both practical Roughs attire and a visible link to the legacy of the Survivor's mistcloak. Its long, ribbon-cut tassels flare dramatically as Wax Steelpushes and Ironpulls through the city, making the coat a symbol of his double life as noble and lawkeeper. By The Lost Metal, the white Roughs duster, sliced into two layers of thick ribbons and hung with a matching Roughs hat on a wall peg, stands as a poignant emblem of the life Wax has partly set aside for family and Senate duties, before he takes it up again for one last fight to save Elendel.
