Hemalurgic spikes are metal spikes that steal Allomantic, Feruchemical, or spiritual attributes from one person and graft them onto another, at the cost of leaving the bearer vulnerable to external influence. In the Era Two Wax and Wayne novels they resurface as a sinister legacy of the Final Empire. In Shadows of Self the kandra Bleeder, freed from Harmony's control by removing one of her spikes, uses stolen powers to terrorize Elendel. By The Lost Metal, the Set and the agents of Trell use spikes to manufacture powers and corrupt minds, and Wax himself is forced to wield Hemalurgy against them.
