Elendel is the great metropolis of the Elendel Basin, founded by Harmony after the Catacendre and named for Elend Venture, serving as the political and industrial heart of Scadrial's Second Era. In Shadows of Self, the city's fragile order is shaken by labor unrest, political assassinations, and the kandra Bleeder's campaign of chaos, exposing tensions between its wealthy elite and its working poor. By The Lost Metal, Elendel faces its gravest threat as the Set and agents of Trell plot to destroy it with a devastating harmonium-fueled bomb, a scheme thwarted by Wax, Wayne, Marasi, and their allies at great personal cost.
