Petrine appears as an experienced enginemaster, an elderly woman whose calm competence carries the weight of long practice. Masked and wrinkle-eyed, she moves with purpose among the others, gripping Jordis’s arm as she distributes medallions. The book offers only a brief glimpse of her, but it leaves her impression as steady and capable.
Description
Petrine is an elderly woman, past her sixth decade, with fine wrinkles gathered around her eyes. A mask covers much of her face, making those watchful eyes her most expressive feature. The text gives no details of her hair, coloring, build, or clothing; her manner suggests a practical woman accustomed to moving decisively through a busy room.
