The Hero is the man who writes the logbook, a mountain-dweller dressed for a life as a herdsman or packman. His account becomes a voice from the past, but Rashek—the man who becomes the Lord Ruler—kills him. Though the book gives only a brief physical portrait, his strength and mountain clothing make him a striking figure behind the record.
Description
The Hero is described as a strongly built, muscular man dressed for life in the cold mountains, like a herdsman or packman. He has a full beard, but the text does not specify its color or his hairstyle, eyes, complexion, or facial features. His clothing is practical and suited to harsh weather and outdoor work. He carries a sturdy, capable presence.
