Handerwym is the long-suffering Terrisman steward and scribe of the adventurer Allomancer Jak, appearing primarily through the in-world broadsheets of Elendel. In Shadows of Self he is glimpsed as Jak's faithful attendant, hovering near the hors d'oeuvres table and later depicted as a scribe flailing his arms with metalminds at his wrists. By The Lost Metal, Handerwym Terrisborn has parted ways with Jak and reached a settlement with him; when asked for comment, he simply closed his eyes and sighed, a weary coda to his years of service. He also surfaces as the author of a note concerning Nicelle's correspondence, tying him to the written records that frame Jak's exploits.
Description
Handerwym is a male Terrisman, identified by the metalminds worn on his wrists. He is seen as a scribe, animated enough to wave his arms frantically. His age, build, skin tone, hair, eyes, facial features, and clothing are not described. The text gives no visual details for Handerwym. Their age, gender, build, skin tone, hair, eyes, face, clothing, and distinguishing features are all unspecified. No consistent appearance can be established from the book. Handerwym Terrisborn is identified as a man, but no physical description is given. The text supplies no details of his height, build, skin tone, hair, eyes, face, or clothing. His reported response—closing his eyes and sighing—suggests a weary reserve, but offers no additional visual features.

Handerwym begins as Jak's faithful Terrisman steward and scribe, chronicling and attending his adventures; by The Lost Metal their partnership has ended in a settlement, and Handerwym's weary sigh suggests little desire to revisit those days.
