Franis is a weathered dockworker and smuggler whose appearance and manner are conveyed when Wayne impersonates him. The book offers no independent account of Franis’s life or fate beyond that brief glimpse of a man shaped by hard experience and a sniveling accent.
Description
Franis is described as a man of Wayne’s height and age, with an average build, but more weathered by time, smoking, and experience. His worn quality suggests a life spent in rough dockside company, though the text does not specify his skin tone, hair, eyes, or particular garments. His most distinctive impression is his sniveling accent and the air of a smoker hardened by what he has done.
