The Escuela de Medicina Backlund first appears in Volume 2 as a functioning campus that later becomes abandoned, transforming from an educational institution into a site of clandestine activity. This evolution reflects the broader decay and hidden machinations within Backlund's society, where once-respected establishments fall into disuse and serve darker purposes. The school's transformation from academic center to abandoned location underscores the series' themes of institutional collapse and the hidden layers beneath civilized facades.
