Alcantarillas de Backlund emerges in Volume 2 as the hidden circulatory system beneath the capital, a labyrinthine underworld where the city’s filth, secrets, and forgotten souls converge. Across the series it evolves from a mere sewer network into a living, breathing entity that mirrors the city’s moral decay and the metaphysical undercurrents of the Beyonder world. Its tunnels become both sanctuary and battlefield, hosting clandestine rituals, desperate escapes, and the slow awakening of ancient powers that threaten to flood the surface world.
