Ikanser Bernard emerges in Volume 2 as a steadfast Deacon of the Church whose authority is matched only by the enigmatic silver mirror Arrodes he wields. His encounters with supernatural forces leave him literally electrified—hair standing on end from silver lightning—yet he maintains his grave demeanor even as his appearance grows increasingly disheveled. Across the series, Ikanser’s role evolves from a minor ecclesiastical functionary into a conduit for Arrodes’ unpredictable power, his survival of these otherworldly trials marking him as both a survivor and an unwitting bridge between institutional faith and the occult unknown.
Description
A man whose most striking feature is his stubbornly tousled brown hair that makes any hat appear tall and precarious atop his head. His facial features are cut sharply with a rigid jawline that contributes to his serious expression. He carries an ornate silver mirror decorated with ancient patterns and black gem eyes on both sides. His formal attire marks him as a person of ecclesiastical importance despite his perpetually messy appearance.
