Olympias began as the daughter of praefect Ablavius, educated with the expectation of marrying into the imperial family. Instead, she married Arsaces Tiranus of Armenia, becoming both queen and eventually a royal captive. Her connections to Constantine's family and her status as both noble Roman and Armenian royalty defined her complex position in the late Roman world.
Description
A woman of noble Roman bearing, dressed in the fine fabrics and jewelry appropriate to her status as daughter of a praefect and wife of an Armenian king. Her dark hair and refined features reflect both her Roman education and her imperial connections. She carries herself with the dignity of one born to privilege, yet marked by the uncertainties of political marriage.
