Edward began as a young English prince who took the cross during his father's lifetime, joining the crusade to the Holy Land. At the head of a thousand soldiers, he delivered Acre from siege and marched as far as Nazareth with an army of nine thousand men, earning comparison to his famous uncle Richard. He secured a ten-year truce through negotiation and force of will, though he escaped with a dangerous wound from an assassin's dagger.
Description
Edward I stands tall and broad-shouldered, his fair skin marked by the sun and wind of campaign. Dark brown hair is cropped short beneath his helmet, and his strong, weathered face reflects both nobility and the hardness of a military leader. He wears polished steel armor beneath a white surcoat bearing the red cross, and his bearing is that of a man accustomed to command.
