The Sea of Quus begins as an ominous, barely-glimpsed horizon in Book 1, a vast stretch of water whose very name carries the weight of ancient myth. Across the series it transforms from a distant, almost symbolic boundary into a living, treacherous frontier whose tides and storms shape the fates of empires and individuals alike. Its shifting currents and hidden islands become both battleground and sanctuary, reflecting the growing turmoil within the Hierarchy itself.
