The Necropolis at Agerus begins in The Will of the Many as a sprawling Catenan burial ground whose monuments and transvect access hint at deeper political significance. Across the series it transforms from a static memorial site into a contested strategic asset, its catacombs and hidden chambers repeatedly repurposed for clandestine meetings, escapes, and power struggles. By later volumes the necropolis is no longer merely a resting place for the dead but a living nexus where the Hierarchy’s past and future collide.
