Lordan's Column begins as a silent, hundred-foot grey monolith in the heart of Caten, its twisted form a stark reminder of the Hierarchy's unyielding power. Across the series it transforms from a passive symbol of authority into a nexus of rebellion, its very structure becoming a battleground where the Will of the Many is both tested and defied. By the later books, the pillar's physical and metaphysical presence evolves into a conduit for the collective consciousness of the oppressed, turning the Hierarchy's own monument against itself.
