Ganice begins as a mere footnote in the Catenan hierarchy—a distant, Catenan-linked territory referenced only in passing during geographic surveys. Across the series, it transforms from an obscure administrative zone into a crucible of rebellion and revelation, its strategic importance growing as the Hierarchy’s grip weakens. By later books, Ganice emerges as a symbol of resistance and a battleground where the true nature of the Hierarchy’s power is laid bare.
