Solum begins as a mere designation—a bureaucratic label slapped onto one of the Hierarchy's countless orphans—yet the name lingers like a ghost through the series, evolving from a symbol of erased identity into a quiet emblem of resistance. Across subsequent volumes, the designation is reclaimed by successive characters who adopt it as a covert alias, transforming what was once an instrument of dehumanization into a whispered password among dissidents. By the later books, Solum is no longer a single lost child but a living myth: an idea passed between rebels, each new bearer adding their own scars and stories to its meaning.
Description
A young boy of unremarkable appearance, his features bearing the generic quality of someone whose individuality has been subsumed by institutional life. Short-cropped hair frames a face that shows the quiet acceptance of those raised without personal identity. His build is slight, typical of Hierarchy-issued clothing that hangs loosely on his frame. There are no distinguishing marks or accessories to set him apart from others who share his designation.
