The Three Broomsticks is a warm, bustling inn and pub in the wizarding village of Hogsmeade, famous for its frothy butterbeer and run by the curvy, good-natured Madam Rosmerta. It first becomes central in Prisoner of Azkaban, when Harry, hidden under his Invisibility Cloak, overhears Fudge, McGonagall, Hagrid and Flitwick discussing Sirius Black's supposed betrayal of the Potters, a revelation that shatters Harry's understanding of his past. In Goblet of Fire it is packed with students and visitors during the Triwizard Tournament, serving as a gathering place where Harry meets Hermione during his second Hogsmeade trip and where the shady Ludo Bagman is found dodging goblin creditors.
