The North Tower is one of the loftiest spires of Hogwarts Castle, first glimpsed in Prisoner of Azkaban as a soaring, open-topped tower whose heights evoke stargazing and celestial study. It is best known as the home of Professor Trelawney's Divination classroom, reached by a spiral staircase and a silver ladder through a trapdoor. Its perfumed, stuffy atmosphere becomes the backdrop for Harry's grim fortune-telling lessons, culminating in Trelawney's genuine prophecy about Voldemort's servant. By Goblet of Fire the tower is a familiar, if dreaded, stop in Harry and Ron's schedule, where invented predictions and Harry's prophetic dream of Voldemort intertwine.
