Harry's bedroom at number four, Privet Drive is the cramped second bedroom the Dursleys grudgingly gave him after moving him out of the cupboard under the stairs, and each summer it serves as both refuge and prison. In Chamber of Secrets it becomes a literal cell, fitted with iron bars and a cat-flap after Dobby's meddling, until the Weasleys rip the bars away with their flying Ford Anglia. In later summers it remains Harry's lonely base of secret study, late-night owl post and covert birthday celebrations, and in Goblet of Fire it is where he wakes from a vision of Voldemort with his scar burning. It is a key setting for Harry's isolation from the wizarding world during his holidays.
