The Divination Classroom, perched atop the North Tower of Hogwarts and reached only by a silver ladder through a circular trapdoor, is Professor Sybill Trelawney's stuffy, perfumed domain of chintz armchairs, pouffes, and crystal balls. Introduced in Prisoner of Azkaban as the stage for Trelawney's gloomy predictions of Harry's death and, crucially, for her genuine trance prophecy about Voldemort's servant rejoining him, the room returns in Goblet of Fire as a drowsy, overheated space where Harry and Ron invent grim forecasts for homework. There Harry dozes off and dreams of Voldemort punishing Wormtail, and he wakes with his scar burning. Throughout, it embodies both the comedic fraudulence of Divination and the unsettling moments when true prophecy breaks through.
