Piers Polkiss lurks as Dudley's scrawny sidekick in Little Whinging, his rat-like face part of the gang terrorizing Harry in the opening chapters. He amplifies Dudley's bullying, a faceless enforcer in the Dursleys' oppressive world before Hogwarts whisks Harry away. Piers embodies the mundane cruelty of Harry's pre-wizard life, vanishing once magic calls.
Description
Piers is a scrawny boy with a face like a rat—pointed nose, small beady eyes, and sallow pale skin stretched over sharp bones. Thin, stringy hair clings to his narrow skull, and his skinny limbs give him a hunched, predatory posture. Dressed in ill-fitting hand-me-downs, he skulks with a perpetual sly grin. His wiry build suggests quick, furtive movements. Every twitch radiates opportunistic malice.
