Mrs. Norris, the scrawny, dust-colored cat with lamp-like eyes belonging to caretaker Argus Filch, serves as his ever-watchful spy in the corridors of Hogwarts, seeming to sense rule-breakers and summon her master to catch them. In her first year alongside Harry, she stalks the trio through night-time excursions, a living embodiment of Filch's paranoia. Her role turns tragic in the second year when she becomes the first victim of the basilisk, found Petrified and hanging by her tail from a torch bracket, an event that throws suspicion onto Harry before she is restored by Mandrake draught. By the time of the Triwizard Tournament she is back at her post, peering around Filch's legs as loyal and unsettling as ever.
Description
Mrs. Norris is a scrawny dust-colored cat with bulging lamp-like yellow eyes that glow eerily in the dark. Her thin, mangy fur clings to a skeletal frame, and her long tail twitches with perpetual suspicion. She moves with stealthy grace through stone halls, exuding a watchful, menacing feline presence. A scrawny ginger tabby cat of skeletal thinness, her patchy fur clinging to prominent bones and ribs. Lamp-like yellow eyes dominate her narrow face, glowing with piercing intensity amid twitching whiskers. She moves with a prowling, emaciated grace, tail lashing in perpetual suspicion. Her presence is one of unblinking vigilance, fur bristling at the slightest irregularity. A scrawny, dust-colored cat with lamp-like eyes. She follows Filch and peers around his legs.
