Old Red appears as a minor Buckkeep guard, embodying the loyal but unremarkable sentinels who maintain the castle's routines amid rising Forged threats. Mentioned in passing during Fitz's early days, he represents the steadfast underbelly of the Farseer court, untouched by the grand intrigues. His brief presence underscores the everyday folk caught in the periphery of royal machinations.
