The Gate of the Feral Gods is the central conceit of the fourth floor of the World Dungeon in Dungeon Crawler Carl, lending its name to the series' fourth book. On this floor, the dungeon's season of gods and divine politics begins in earnest: Carl, Princess Donut, and their companions get caught up in a contest whose outcome is tied to the gate and the deities connected to it. The consequences of the floor, including divine attention, faction rivalries, and the growing involvement of gods in the crawl, carry forward into later books. References to it recur as the crawlers face the fallout of the pantheon's meddling in subsequent floors.
