The Borant system is the corporate governing entity behind the production of Dungeon Crawler World, initially presented as a faceless but powerful authority whose fleet waits just beyond the boundaries of Earth's solar system as the crawl begins. Over the course of the series, its seemingly unassailable control begins to fracture. By the time of the Butcher's Masquerade, Borant is revealed to be a government without any physical manifestation, a legal and corporate construct now torn apart by civil war, its instability rippling through the dungeon and the crawlers trapped within it.
