The Faction Wars are one of the dungeon's grandest spectacles, a competitive event in which galactic factions buy their way into permanent participation and field armies against one another. First glimpsed in Carl's Doomsday Scenario as a lucrative structure where early investment guarantees a faction's seat at the table, the concept grows by The Butcher's Masquerade into a looming threat of large-scale race-against-race conflict. By A Parade of Horribles, the Faction Wars arrive in full force on the ninth floor as a massive castle-siege event pitting NPC forces, crawler armies, and returning old crawlers against each other, turning the dungeon into an all-out battlefield with Carl and his allies caught in the middle.
