Warlord Hortense Leadership Unit is a minor character in Dungeon Crawler Carl (Book 7).

First appears: Book 7 · Ch. 42
Books: 1

The Warlord Hortense Leadership Unit is presented as an operatic slime creature, a fat pile of goo carried on a long, flat litter and guarded by more than a dozen shields. After an identity reset, part of the Operatic warlord’s essence forms Hortense, linking the figure to a larger and stranger process of remade identity. The text provides little further detail about the unit’s actions or ultimate fate.

Description

Hortense is a heavy, shapeless pile of goo, described as an operatic slime creature rather than a figure with distinct human features. The creature is carried on a long, flat litter, its bulk framed by a dozen or more shields. A twitch gives the otherwise amorphous mass a small, unnerving suggestion of movement. No color, face, or specific texture beyond its slime-like form is established.
