The man appears as someone working at a mall and pretending to be Santa. His decapitated head is found hanging from a reindeer’s mouth, an image that turns holiday decoration into something grotesque. Later, he is remembered as the sender of Christmas presents that Carl and Imani forgot to open; beyond that, the text offers no personal history.
Description
The man is dressed as Santa, in a holiday costume that marks him as a mall performer. His only described appearance is his decapitated head, hanging from a reindeer’s mouth; no details are given about his face, hair, age, or build. The red-and-festive presentation of the costume clashes starkly with the unsettling stillness of the image.
