Milk begins as a mysterious marginal voice in the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook, her annotations on everything from the hydra fight to the indestructibility of stairwells marking her as one of the book's many past owners. In This Inevitable Ruin she finally steps off the page as a depleted Xenopus-vesper hybrid with power words burned into her skin, revealed to be guildmaster of the Calligrapher's Guild, a cartographer of uncanny precision, and the author of the cookbook's sixth edition. She shelters Prepotente's group despite being burned for her trouble, uses calligraphy to empower Princess Donut's magic, and is revealed to be Carl's sister in an emotional reunion, before being kidnapped and interrogated by the FUPA.
Description
Milk’s appearance is not described in the available chapters. No information is given about height, build, coloring, hair, eyes, face, clothing, or distinctive features. Milk has a compact, creaturely silhouette, her mottled skin and webbed hands giving her the unmistakable look of a frog-bat hybrid. Leathery wings fold along her back, while her claws can extend and retract; a word is etched into her throat, and power-word burns mark her skin. In her most clearly described appearance, starvation has left her visibly depleted, and she wears faded sleep linen. Her presence is at once vulnerable and arresting, with an unusual anatomy that feels both delicate and formidable.
