Maxim Popov is one half of a conjoined pair of nodling ogre brothers, sharing a body with his sibling Dmitri, who surface during the Butcher's Masquerade amid the spectacle of CrawlCon. Combining Bogatyr melee strength with Visionary insight and an easy brotherly banter, the pair drift briefly into Carl's orbit before being escorted away by gnoll guards after the Chapter 40 incident. By The Eye of the Bedlam Bride, Maxim is reduced to a grim footnote: an ogre ejected from the game, his fate alongside Dmitri serving as a wake-up call that drives Katia to recognize the urgency of her own situation.
Description
Towering at seven feet, the conjoined brothers form a massive hulking figure with wide, solid builds clad in mottled gray, thick, callused skin resembling an elephant's hide. Maxim, the right head, sports a chiseled angular face under a snug knitted beanie, his right arm heavy with jingling golden rings, exuding a rugged melee readiness. Dmitri, the left head, contrasts with his rounder, softer face and bare bald scalp, both heads perched atop simple tunics bearing CrawlCon badges. They carry playing cards and bear remnants of greasy chicken, their presence a bizarre blend of imposing bulk and casual grit. The twins move as one, their shared body a testament to unnatural unity. Maxim is identified as an ogre, but the text gives no specific visual description. Their size, build, coloring, face, hair, eyes, clothing, and distinguishing features remain unspecified. The text provides no physical description of Maxim Popov. His age, build, complexion, hair, eyes, facial features, clothing, and distinguishing marks are unknown.
