Kimaris first surfaces in the series merely as a name etched on a summoning totem tucked away in Carl's inventory, a mysterious figure of untapped potential. In This Inevitable Ruin, the name gains a history: Kimaris is revealed to be one of the brothers of Sheol and among Samantha's dearest friends, a being who once aided her when she could not conceive by giving her a potion. Samantha's eagerness to reunite with him transforms Kimaris from an inventory curiosity into a figure with emotional stakes for the crawl ahead.
