Edict starts as a level 50 merchant-accountant mantis, a pitiful male without the females' sword arms, shivering and freezing in fear during a tense encounter before teleporting naked into a monster nest where he's torn apart in an implied honorable death. His brief arc underscores the brutal whims of the dungeon, transforming a harmless trader into a victim of sudden violence. Mentioned later, he embodies the disposable lives caught in the crawler's chaos.

Description

A small male mantis alien with a slender insectoid build and vibrant green exoskeleton that shimmers subtly under light. He hunches over pitifully, evoking a shivering child, lacking the upper sword arms typical of females, with spindly legs and clawed hands poised for merchant work. Large compound eyes reflect a perpetual nervousness, set in a narrow head with twitching antennae. His frame is delicate, clad in simple trader's vestments adorned with pouches and accounting tools. A frozen, timid presence clings to him, as if always on the edge of flight.
