Apollon the Mighty first appears as a minor oddity in the dungeon's grotesque carnival on the third floor, an elite strongman ogre selling ice cream in petrified, worm-infested cones. His single head is scarred to parody a three-headed brute, and his slow, bemused reactions to the crawlers capture the Syndicate's mix of menace and mundane cruelty. Much later, in This Inevitable Ruin, he is recalled as the brother of Herman and Areson, left behind on the third floor, which turns a background curiosity into a thread of family loss among the dungeon's non-crawler inhabitants.
Description
Apollon the Mighty is a massive muscular ogre with a strongman build that towers imposingly, his thick green-gray skin taut over rippling slabs of muscle. A jagged scar slashes across the side of his shaved head, evoking the central face of a three-headed ogre, while a thick vine branch appendage coils from his neck like a living tattoo. His dull yellow eyes peer from beneath heavy brows, set in a broad face with a flat nose and protruding tusks framing a wide mouth. He dresses simply in an apron over his bare, sweat-glistened chest, exuding a presence of deliberate slowness and surprising gentleness amid his brute power. Bone-white worms sometimes wriggle in his massive hands, adding to his eerie vendor charm. The supplied text gives no description of Apollon's appearance, clothing, or manner.
