Yerin's Blood Shadow begins as a parasitic crimson duplicate in Underlord, manifesting as a pink-skinned, red-haired mirror of its host with six metallic Goldsigns and a pink blade. By Uncrowned it has evolved into a more autonomous crimson spirit, wielding a black sword and emitting a bubbling laugh that hints at growing self-awareness. Across these early books the entity transitions from a mere reflection of Yerin into a distinct, increasingly independent being whose relationship with its host becomes more complex and potentially threatening.
