Elsie is mentioned as one of three little sisters who lived at the bottom of a well. The book gives her no independent actions or further biography, and she remains part of a brief, dreamlike reference rather than a developed character.
Description
Elsie is described only as a little sister and a child. No details are given about her height, build, coloring, face, hair, eyes, clothing, or distinguishing features. Her visual design should therefore remain open, with only a childlike presence supported by the text. The text gives no description of Elsie’s appearance, clothing, age, or presence.
