The Bat has no independent action in the story; it appears as the subject of the Hatter’s song about a twinkling creature overhead. Its brief mention contributes to the book’s playful reshaping of familiar nursery imagery, but the text gives it no further history.
Description
The Bat is described only as a flying creature high above the world, imagined in the song as twinkling. No particular size, coloring, markings, or other features are specified. Its visual impression is simply that of a bat in flight against the sky.
