Under the Mountain is Amarantha's subterranean court in Prythian, a labyrinth of oppressive tunnels, dungeons, and a grand throne room where she held the High Fae in thrall for nearly fifty years. In the first book it is the site of Feyre's three deadly trials and her death and resurrection as High Fae, the climax that breaks Amarantha's curse. In A Court of Mist and Fury it lingers as a haunting presence, the source of Feyre's nightmares and trauma and a shared wound binding her to Rhysand, who also suffered there.
