Eris Vanserra, eldest son of the High Lord of the Autumn Court, first surfaces Under the Mountain as an emblem of faerie menace, baring his teeth at Feyre in a flash of barely leashed aggression. In A Court of Mist and Fury his shadow lengthens through reputation rather than deed: he is revealed as the betrothed who refused to marry Mor and left her broken and bleeding in the woods. That act earns him the enduring hatred of the Night Court's inner circle, especially Azriel, whom Rhysand claims he barely kept from slaughtering Eris and his court. Across both books Eris remains more ominous silhouette than fully drawn figure, a noble whose cruelty precedes him.
Description
He is a tall, lean High Fae male with striking vibrant red hair that marks him as a child of the Autumn Court. His build is slender but athletic, carrying the refined strength of nobility. He dresses in fine, well-tailored clothing appropriate to his station. His bearing is aristocratic and calculated, every movement deliberate and controlled. His face can shift from courtly composure to a threatening snarl that reveals his predatory nature. The text gives no physical description of Eris. His height, build, skin tone, hair, eyes, facial features, clothing, and distinguishing marks are unspecified. He is identified as a male faerie and the eldest son of the High Lord of the Autumn Court, but those facts do not establish a particular visual appearance.
